Manitoba Families
Out of Province Families
Registering with our agency gives us the legal right to represent you in both Canada and the child’s country and allows information to be shared between your province and CAFAC.
Home studies are completed after 3-6 visits. You will have discussions on a
variety of issues such as personal histories, marriage relationships, or if
not married, your personal support systems etc. The social worker will require
proof of your education, finances and employment, and criminal record checks
and child abuse checks must be completed. Medicals are required and are country
specific. You will be asked to share your views on parenting, discipline ideas
and practices etc. Cultural and racial issues will be addressed and a frank
discussion about the age and type of child or children you see yourself able
to parent.
